Arrowfield broodmare reduction headed for Inglis Digital

Media Release - Thursday March 24

Inglis is proud to present an opportunity to buy quality mares from Arrowfield Stud in a significant reduction sale at next month’s Inglis Digital April (Late) Online Sale, scheduled for April 22-27.

Arrowfield’s Bloodstock Manager Jon Freyer explains: “Our broodmare band numbers have increased substantially in recent years, largely because we have retained a number of fillies from our top families. However, we now find that we have significant duplications and, given the Covid-induced staffing pressures and restrictions on immigration, we felt the time was right to reduce our broodmare numbers to a more manageable level.”

Freyer continues: “The upside for buyers is that the mares we’re offering for unreserved online sale have all been given first-class opportunities and many of them have potentially juicy pedigree updates in the pipeline, with well-bred young progeny on the ground and in top stables. Furthermore, most of them also have female relatives remaining at Arrowfield, so they’ll benefit from any future Stakes winners that emerge from our program.”

The Arrowfield Broodmare Reduction Sale includes:

• Mares by Snitzel, Redoute’s Choice, Dundeel, I Am Invincible, Dubawi, Stravinsky, Pierro, Encosta De Lago, Deep Impact, Fastnet Rock & Lord Kanaloa

• Mares in foal to Admire Mars, Castelvecchio, Dundeel, Maurice, Pariah, The Autumn Sun, Shalaa & Showtime

• Close relatives of Alinghi, Charge Forward, Danehill, Dundeel, Fashions Afield, Hartnell, I Am Invincible, King Kamehameha, Lankan Rupee, Makybe Diva, Mentality, Miss Finland, Northerly, Not A Single Doubt, Probabeel, Redoute’s Choice, Samantha Miss, Silent Witness, Snitzel, Weekend Hussler & Winx

Inglis Digital’s Business Manager Nick Melmeth added: “We are delighted to have been given this rare opportunity by one of the world’s leading breeding operations in Arrowfield to offer this appealing collection of mares for online sale.

“Arrowfield is synonymous with success in breeding, so this sale is one that deserves the attention of breeders across Australasia.

“In the lead-up to the sale our team will be working to assist buyers with all the information they need about each of the mares, the details for each of which will be made available online.’’

Further details on the draft will be announced following the conclusion of the upcoming Easter Yearling Sale.
