Aussie Juvenile Winner in South Africa

Scoring his second win in South Africa on Sunday at Turffontein was talented stakes-placed two year-old Lonhro gelding Alfolk.

Alfolk as a yearlingTrained by Mike de Kock for Shadwell, Alfolk strode clear to win the 1160 metre juvenile event by four lengths as favourite.

A $380,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell from the Sledmere Stud draft, Alfolk is the best of two winners from Alteza Real, a three-quarter sister by Exceed and Excel to Group I winner Shinzig from Group I winner Shindig.

Alteza Real has not had a foal since Alfolk, but was covered by Golden Slipper winner Vancouver last spring.
