Hat-Trick for Hypnotist
Tara Madgwick - Wednesday, 12 July 2017
James Harron Bloodstock bought just one yearling at the 2016 NZB Premier Yearling Sale and that is Hypnotist, who made it three wins in as many starts when scoring at Canterbury on Wednesday.

Hypnotist as a yearlingPrepared by Peter and Paul Snowden, the two year-old Snitzel colt won at Newcastle when resuming from a spell last month and had to pull out some fighting qualities this time around to hold off place-getters Uncle Rodriguez and All Too Hard filly All Too Soon, who flew home after missing the start.

"He laboured through the ground a little bit today – that was always a query," said winning rider Kerrin McEvoy.

"We were back to our own age but also up in trip and had three kilos more so just had to take those into consideration but he did a good job.

"The other day he was gifted the race after a solid tempo and today he just had to battle it out."

A $240,000 NZB Premier purchase for JHB from the Highview draft, Hypnotist is the first winner for unraced Pins mare My Amazing Dream, a sibling to stakes-winners Kiss Me Ketut, Fast Love and a Chance to Dream.

He is one of 32 Australian two year-old winners this season for Arrowfield Stud's Snitzel, who is just days away from being crowned Australia's Champion Sire for 2016/2017.
