Wyong Double for Turangga Farm Breds

The highly anticipated Turangga Farm Dispersal is coming up on July 23 in Scone and Stuart Ramsay's breeding operation has been in hot form of late with a steady stream of winners including Weston and Sunset Jewel, who both saluted at Wyong on Thursday.

Weston as a yearlingAn $80,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Segenhoe Thoroughbreds from the Turangga Farm draft, the Peter Robl trained three year-old Weston opened his account with a half length win in the 1350 metre maiden.

The Myboycharlie (IRE) gelding had been consistent in recent runs and led all the way break the ice in good style.

Following Weston into the winner's circle was three year-old Al Maher filly Sunset Jewel, a modest $9,000 purchase from the Turangga Farm draft at the Inglis Select Weanling Sale.

Trained on the track by Kevin Miller, Sunset Jewel outpointed the favourite Danzie to win the 1600 metre class one event by half a neck and has the tidy record of two wins and two seconds from just five starts.

Sunset Jewel is the first foal from Blue Ruby, a Lonhro daughter of Group II winner Mardi's Magic from the family of champion miler Racing to Win.

Blue Ruby will be offered in the Turangga Farm Dispersal as Lot 34 and is in foal to Sunset Jewel's sire Al Maher.
