Segenhoe Thoroughbreds homebred Curdled chose the right spot to break his maiden in Saturday's Listed Winning Edge Stakes (1350m) at Doomben to credit Vinery Stud's All Too Hard with his first stakes-winner.
Placed in four of his previous five starts, Curdled finally had some luck go his way.
Ridden by Jim Byrne for Randwick-based trainer Peter Robyl, Curdled found a spot midfield from a wide barrier.
On his inside was Marseille En Fleur and the two came wide on the turn to make their runs.

The son of All Too Hard had earned a spell according to Bill Mitchell, who was representing trainer Peter Robl.
"He's a progressive horse who should develop into a better three-year-old than two-year-old and we'll put him away and look for the right races next season," Mitchell told AAP.
Curdled (pictured as a yearling) advances his overall record to 1 win, 3 seconds and 1 third from 6 starts with earnings of $88,850.
Sold for $300,000 to Shadwell Stud at the 2016 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Curdled failed a post-sale scope and was retained to race by Segenhoe.
He is the second stakes winner out of the stakes-winning Lonhro mare Custard.
Segenhoe Stud bred Custard and sold her for $250,000 to James Bester at the 2008 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
She won the Listed Oaklands Plate for David Hayes in a light racing career.
Sent to the 2012 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale, Custard was bought back by Segenhoe who had to shell out $575,000 to bring the daughter of Lonhro back home.
She was in foal to Fastnet Rock at the time and Segenhoe made a sizeable portion of the purchase price back when the subsequent filly foal made $400,000 to the bid of Kitchwin Hills at the 2014 Easter Yearling sale.
Named Serene Majesty and sent to Peter and Paul Snowden, the Fastnet Rock filly proved her worth by winning the Group III Thoroughbred Club Stakes at Caulfield before downing Spill The Beans in the valuable Inglis Guineas at Scone.
A half-sister to dual Listed stakes winner Russian Caravan and to the dam of multiple Group II winner Fravashi and Group III winner Angelic Smile, Custard has a weanling colt by Fastnet Rock and was bred back to Coolmore's champion again last spring.
Curdled becomes the eighth winner for All Too Hard who has had a profitable seven days after a double with Eclair Sunshine and Hard Ruler seven days ago while Sasso Corbaro ran second at Canterbury and Rocketcod finished second at Pakenham during the week.
The half-brother to Black Caviar stands at a fee of $44,000 at Vinery Stud this spring.
