In
2014, we published a story about this former Aussie bred Godolphin
stakes-winner who had gone to the Northern Hemisphere and found success over the
jumps and three years on he's still going strong.
Nine year-old gelding Retrieve (by Rahy)was back in the winner's list overnight at
Wolverhampton in the UK after winning a race over 1m1 ½ f by ahead.
That was his third win this year, so Retrieve has been in good form since being
taken over by Jamie Osborne after his previous trainer John Ferguson gave up
his string to take on the role of CEO at Godolphin.
A Group III winner of the STC Gloaming Stakes and MRC Norman Robinson Stakes in
Australia, as well as being Group I placed in the VRC and AJC Derbies as well
as the Spring Champion Stakes, Retrieve was dispatched to Europe in May 2011.
He won a Listed race at Newmarket in 2012 for Saeed bin Suroor and was then
second in a Group I event in Italy.
Retrieve has the overall record of 11 wins from 40 starts.
His dam Hold to Ransom (USA) is also the dam of stakes-winners Reparations and
Abduction and produced a colt by Lonhro for Godolphin last spring.
