Starting the Day with an 18-length Winner

Mark Smith - Sunday March 28

While Jamie Walters Proven Thoroughbreds had to be satisfied with three placings from its three runners at Doomben on Saturday, supporters of the stable had a day out at the Gold Coast.

In the opening event over 1400m, the 2yo Spill The Beans filly Secret Tales was simply devasting in an 18-length romp.

It was the second start for Steve O'Dea and Matt Hoysted-trained filly who devoured the heavy track.

The stable had little time to reflect on that romp when the 3yo More Than Ready gelding Travoli opened his account in a QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Plate over 1800m.

Another to relish the heavy 10, Travoli steamrolled the odds-on favourite Dear Sibling (Sebring) by four and a quarter lengths.

The win would be welcomed by his breeders, S F Bloodstock, Blake Sandblom Pty Ltd and Winstar Farm, who have a Capitalist half-sister to Travoli in the Newgate Farm consignment heading to the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale (lot 136)

Purchased by Proven Thoroughbreds/Steven O'Dea for $110,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Travoli is the first foal of the two-time stakes-winning Flying Spur mate Traveston Girl who was runner-up in the Group 1 MRC Thousand Guineas.

Travoli a $110,000 Magic Millions yearling

Traveston Girl was onsold at last years Magic Millions Gold Coast National Broodmare Sale.

Out of a sister to the triple Group 1 winner Defier from the family of the champion Triscay, Traveston Girl was purchased by Lockyer Thoroughbreds for $300,000 when carrying a colt by Deep Field.
