Dam of Beau Geste for Sale

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 24
A stylish debut winner at Canterbury on Wednesday, two year-old Street Cry (IRE) colt Beau Geste is the first winner for his well-bred dam Haut Ton, who will be offered as part of the Godolphin draft at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast next week.

Haut Ton was the most expensive filly at Inglis Easter 2009Prepared by Darren Beadman, Beau Geste was easy in the market having had only one previous trial in which he finished third.

Despite the lack of fitness and experience in comparison to many of his rivals, Beau Geste powered home for Brenton Avdulla to win the 1100 metre maiden by two lengths.

He is the second foal of minor winning Redoute's Choice mare Haut Ton, who was bought by Darley for $1,150,000 at the 2009 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and was the most expensive filly sold at that sale.

A half-sister to Group II placed Define, Haut Ton is from Group I winning Marscay mare Fine Society.

She will be offered at Magic Millions as Lot 1254 and is in foal to I Am Invincible's dual Group I winning son Brazen Beau.

Haut Ton is one of 45 lots listed for sale by Godolphin, click here to see the full draft.
