Miss Debutante claimed a valuable Black Type win at Scone on Saturday in the $150,000
Listed Denise's Joy Quality.
Prepared by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Miss Debutante was a Breednet 'One
to Watch' when breaking her maiden back in November, but has been raced
sparingly since.
A speedy front running winner at Canterbury when resuming from a spell last
month, Miss Debutante (image Steve Hart) was ridden back in the field this time by Tommy Berry after
drawing wide and the move seemed to suit.
She charged to the line to win the 1100 metre dash running away by two and a
half lengths and has the overall record of four wins and a third from six
starts with prizemoney topping $176,000.
"She really exploded, it was a very impressive win," Adrian ott said.
"A different style of win.
"We saw her versatility today. She's usually shown plenty of speed in her
races but today she was able to settle off a hot speed and I loved the way she
found the line.
"A brilliant turn of foot and off that you'd expect her to get over a bit
further."

Bloodstock, Miss Debutante runs for Criterion's owner Sir Owen Glenn, who will
be well pleased if this Black Type win is the first of many.
"We've always had Brisbane in our sights and it's good to pick up this
race on the way through," Bott said.
"Hopefully there's still a few more up in Queensland.
"We'll keep her to the fillies and mares grade and hopefully a race like
the Tatts Tiara (Group I) over 1400m.
"If she can settle like that I think she has the scope to be very
competitive."
Miss Debutante is the first winner for More Than Real (USA), a Group II winning
daughter of champion sire More Than Ready.
Kia Ora offered a full brother to Miss Debutante at Inglis Easter this year who
was passed in shy of his $250,000 reserve. She has a Snitzel weanling colt and
was covered by Exceed and Excel last year.
Miss Debutante is the 115th stakes-winner for champion sire Fastnet
Rock and is his third stakes-winner from a daughter of More Than Ready.
