Sooboog Fee Set at $13,200

Media Release - Tuesday May 9
As Snitzel races towards the world record for 2yo winners in a season, Kitchwin Hills are pleased to announce that they will be standing his explosive son Sooboog at stud this season.

SooboogOn debut as an October 2yo, Sooboog went within a stride of defeating subsequent Golden Slipper winner Vancouver in the Breeders plate. He later went on to win his own Group 3 the Aurie's Star over 1200 metres down the Flemington straight.

Sooboog is a full brother to Snitzerland, who (also a pre-Christmas 2yo) was subsequently runner up and went within half a length of Pierro in their 2012 Golden Slipper. (WATCH HERE)

Snitzerland then went on to win the Group 1 Lightning Handicap at Flemington.

As a racehorse, Sooboog delivers mare owners his own explosive speed, which is multiplied by a sire and dam line dominated by more precocity. He represents exactly what works in Australian racing, outstanding physicality and tremendous speed.

John Hawkes commented: "Sooboog was the early favourite for the Golden Slipper for good reason, but after injuring himself when looming up to subsequent Golden Slipper winner Vancouver in the Breeders Plate, we never got to see how good he really was at two.

However, Sooboog was certainly right up there with some of the better two-year-olds I've ever trained."

As a type, Sooboog set a then yearling sale record price for Snitzel when he was knocked down for a whopping $1.5 million at the 2014 Inglis Easter Sale.

Wayne Hawkes is another who has nothing but praise for the son of Snitzel and believes he really has what it takes to succeed at stud.

"Take I Am Invincible as an example, a super type himself and he produces exactly that. Wait until breeders see Sooboog, he's as good a looking horse as you'll come across."

With 2yo speed written all over this stallion, and as the only son of Snitzel to retire to stud in the Hunter Valley in 2017, the levels of interest from breeders have been 'significant' said Kitchwin Hills Michael Malone.

"Probably the most inspiring aspect to date is the quality of the breeders who are already behind him, breeders who are held in the very highest regard, it is actually really encouraging to see."

Kitchwin are currently taking bookings for Sooboog, who stands at a price of $13,200 in 2017. Please call James Hetherington at Kitchwin Hills on 0265458065 or Michael Malone on 0428458065 to secure your booking.
