Caulfield Guineas Winner Divine Prophet to Stand at Aquis

Tara Madgwick - Friday May 5

Group 1 Caulfield Guineas winner Divine Prophet (Choisir) will join Aquis Farm's stallion roster at AQUIS Emirates Park in the Hunter Valley this coming spring.

Bred by the Falcone family and raised by David and Verna Metcalfe at Middlebrook Valley Lodge in Scone, Divine Prophet performed at the highest level in both Sydney and Melbourne during his race career under the care of Team Hawkes.

Divine Prophet - Grant CourtneyBreeder and Managing Owner Tony Falcone is enthused at his colt retiring to Aquis Farm in the Hunter Valley.

"Aquis Farm is arguably Australia's fastest growing and most dynamic thoroughbred breeding enterprise at present. Mario, Sam, Vincent and myself couldn't be happier Divine Prophet has found a future with Aquis in the Hunter Valley ," Mr Falcone said.

"Divine Prophet will be a highlight in what is already an extremely strong line up of both proven and new stallions on the Aquis Emirates Park roster. Aquis have been able to already acquire, and will continue to acquire, many high class broodmares. A number of these quality mares will visit Divine Prophet over the next few years. Any young stallion who is given this type of early opportunity receives a significant boost for their future success."

By emerging sire of sires Choisir, from blue hen Prophet Jewel (Encosta De Lago), the brother to Group I placed Group III winner Proisir won at two, placing third in the Group 1 ATC Champagne Stakes beaten just over a length at headquarters, showing connections early that a major was just around the corner.

Upon resuming as an early three year-old, the classy son of Choisir added the Group III ATC Up and Coming, placed fourth to Astern in the Group 1 ATC Golden Rose, second in the Group II ATC Stan Fox Stakes prior to a dominant win in the time honored stallion maker, The Caulfield Guineas.

"Divine Prophet is what everyone in Australia wants in a race horse. A Group 1 two-year-old who trained on as a three-year-old to win a Caulfield Guineas. You just don't win races like the Caulfield Guineas with average horses. He was a high quality genuine Group 1 horse," Hawkes Racing's John Hawkes said.

Jockey Dwayne Dunn added: "Divine Prophet is a seriously nice horse. He absolutely deserved to win a race like the Caulfield Guineas. He's a beautiful individual with a great attitude."

A fantastic physical specimen showing the strength and precocity of his sire Choisir but with the quality of his dam sire Encosta De Lago, Divine Prophet is the ideal addition to the Aquis Farm stallion roster at Emirates and should prove extremely popular to breeders in the Hunter Valley at $22,000 including GST in his first season.

Divine Prophet joins the likes of past Caulfield Guineas winners that have enjoyed success at stud including Luskin Star, Redoute's Choice, Show a Heart, Lonhro, Starspangledbanner, Helmet and highly promising All Too Hard.

Justin Fung, Aquis Farm CEO said: "The Fung Family's intention to grow the Aquis Emirates Park operation to be a premier Hunter Valley Stud farm is best demonstrated by the commitment we are showing to this farm this season by announcing two new high class first season stallions in Kiss and Make Up and now a Caulfield Guineas winner in Divine Prophet."
