Spendthrift
shuttler Jimmy Creed (USA) has broken the ice with his first winner after two
year-old colt Admiral Jimmy scored an explosive win on debut at Gulfstream.
Prepared by Todd Pletcher, Admiral Jimmy burst clear by the eighth pole and
came home three and half lengths in advance of his nearest rival.
He zoomed over the four and a half furlongs in 51.07 seconds, equalling the
track record set by subsequent stakes-winner Awesome Banner in 2015.
A homebred for Siena Farms, Admiral Jimmy is a half-brother to stakes-winner
Velvet Mood and is from Zayanna, a half-sister by Bernardini to Group winners
Dilemma and Heavenly Ransom.
He is the first winner for Distorted Humor's Group I winning son Jimmy Creed,
who has shuttled to Spendthrift Australia for the past two seasons and is on
the roster again for 2017 at a fee of $7,700.
