20th Stakes-Winner for I Am Invincible

Breednet - Saturday April 29
I Am Invincible two year-old Kobayashi stamped himself a horse of the future when he became his sire's 20th stakes winner on Saturday.

Having scored his maiden win at Caulfield three Saturday's ago, he kept the improvement rate going to take the Thoroughbred Club Cup (Listed) at Caulfield.

"He's a really talented colt and has a good future as a sprinter," said winning trainer Leon Corstens before suggesting the future may include either a trip to Brisbane or an immediate spell.

The Brisbane objectives are the SiresProduce (1400m) and JJ Atkins (1600m) however Corstens is wary of the distances being beyond his charge for the moment.

"We'll get him home and have a good look at him and then we'll go from there, but I'm looking forward to the spring when he grows into himself," Corstens told AAP.

By I Am Invincible out of Woodstock Hussey, Kobayashi was offered by Edinglassie Stud at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, being knocked down to Baystone Farm as agent for $60,000.

Woodstock Hussey is an unraced mare by Hussonet and a half-sister to stakes placed Love's Great from a family that includes former topliner Monopolize.

Kobayashi is the first surviving foal of her dam after her first died.

She has subsequently left a yearling by Duporth and was served by Al Maher last season.
