Haunui Farm Set Showcasing Fee

Media Release - Thursday April 27
Haunui Farm have announced that Group One producing stallion Showcasing (GB) (Oasis Dream) will stand the 2017 Southern Hemisphere season at a fee of $12,000 + GST.

ShowcasingThe Champion First Season Sire of his year and, crowned Champion Second Season Sire last season, Showcasing has enjoyed a stellar start to his stud career and has cemented himself a place as one of New Zealand's most exciting young stallion prospects.

The only sire of his year to have had runners in each and every Karaka Million – he won it in 2015 with Hardline, finished runner-up in 2016 with Showmeyamoneyhoney and, fourth in 2017 with Princess Rihanna – a place she has filled in a further three black type appearances this season – Showcasing reinforced his two-year-old producing reputation at Avondale on ANZAC Day when the Peter and Dawn Williams-trained filly So Far Sokool won in emphatic style putting four-and-a-half lengths on her opposition over 1200m and leaving some highly fancied rivals in her wake.

On the three-year-old front, Showcasing's most recent success story is Showemup, who this past weekend was crowned South Island Filly of the Year.

Having won the penultimate leg of the South Island Filly of the Year Series, the New Zealand Bloodstock Airfreight Stakes (1600m) two weeks ago, Showemup held on gamely to finish third in the New Zealand Bloodstock Warstep Stakes (2000m) after being taken on in front and setting a solid pace with fellow Showcasing filly Tuilana finishing second.

Showemup joins the likes of multiple stakes winners Iguazu, Joan's Best, Besty Coup, Group One performer Ombre Rose and Group One winner Consensus on the South Island Filly of the Year Honours Board

Meanwhile, Australian-based Cylinder Beach (NZ) (Showcasing), a dual stakes winner already this season, has Group One honours in sight with the Doomben Cup a major target over the Queensland Carnival whilst in Singapore, six-time winner Casing Royal will take aim at the prestigious Singapore 4YO Series.

Haunui Farm's Mark Chitty says, "Showcasing couldn't have made a better start to his career in either hemisphere. He has had a runner in the Karaka Million from every crop to date and he has proven that he can upgrade his mares with all of his 15 stakes winners so far, the best performed progeny out of the mare – none of which were stakes performers themselves.

"At a fee of $12,000, we feel we are giving every breeder in New Zealand the opportunity to use a stallion that we know can get early runners, can upgrade mares and, can leave a type. When you think about what Iffraaj has achieved in the past few seasons and, given the fact Showcasing is outperforming him at the same stage of his career, then we have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of seasons."

Showcasing is once again limited to a book of 125 mares. For more information or to make a booking, please be in touch with Mark – 021 663 995 – or Shannon – 0212 855 513
