Darley's
dual Group I winner Epaulette broke the ice in the Northern Hemisphere with his
first winner overnight with a Maisons- Laffitte victory for two year-old filly
Fas Le Fios.
Trained by Stan Moore and ridden by Clement Lecoeuvre, Fas Le Fios was having
her third start in the five furlong contest and scored by a short neck.
Fas Le Fios is the fourth winner from Saffa Garden, a half-sister to
stakes-winner He's a Decoy.
A three-quarter brother to Group I winner and Group I producing sire Helmet,
Epaulette is currently at Kildangan Stud in Ireland for Darley at a fee of
7,000 euros.
Epaulette will have his first Australian runners next season and his yearlings
this year have sold for up to $260,000.
The stunning son of Commands stands at Darley in the Hunter Valley this spring
at a fee of $22,000.
