Move Over Black Caviar

Tara Madgwick - Saturday April 22
She's not Black Caviar, but talented Reward for Effort filly Desert Lashes is unbeaten and made it eight wins in succession when landing her first Black Type victory in the Listed SAJC Redelva Stakes at Morphettville on Saturday.

Trained at Alice Springs by Lisa Lefoe, Desert Lashes started her career with five straight wins at Pioneer Park including a victory in the Inglis Red Centre Classic before testing her mettle against better company.

Reward for EffortAn easy winner at Morphettville at her past two runs, Desert Lashes upped the ante again when tackling her first Black Type assignment in the Redelva Stakes, an 1100 metre sprint for three year-olds.

Sent out favourite, she emerged triumphant, surging away to win by more than two lengths in a dominant display.

She is the best of four winners from Misha's Bell, a three-quarter sister to Group II winner Silver Glade.
