Yarraman Park Set Fees

Media Release - Monday April 3
Yarraman Park has set the fees for the 2017 breeding season for their Champion stallions I Am Invincible and Hinchinbrook.

I Am Invincible, sire of dual Group I winning sprinter and stallion Brazen Beau has had an outstanding year both on the track and in the sales ring.

With 19 stakes-winners to his credit, I Am Invincible is the sire of new season Group I winner I Am A Star who continues to outdo her older contemporaries time and again.

Far too good in the Group I VRC Myer Classic in the Spring and again last weekend in the Group II Sunline Stakes, 3YO filly I Am A Star also took out the Group II VRC Kewney Stakes earlier this year.

I Am InvincibleHis seven other stakes-winners this season include the lightning-fast Group II winner Illustrious Lad, Group III winning 2YO Invincible Star, Group I placed Group III winner Invincible Gem.

His four current season stakes-placed horses are headlined by Hellbent who went ever-so-close to becoming his sire's third Group I winner in the William Reid last week.

I Am Invincible is the country's leading stallion by winners to runners with a consistent percentage of more than 50% and his 2YO filly Houtzen's victory in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January ensured his results in the sale ring this year followed suit.

I Am Invincible has sired a $1.4m colt at the Premier Sale in March and a $900,000 colt at the Gold Coast in January where his yearling average soared to more than $318,000.

I Am Invincible will stand at a fee of $110,000 (Inc. GST) this spring.

Young stallion Hinchinbrook, Snitzel's three-quarter-brother, has had a brilliant start to 2017 following his remarkable spring where he was one of only four stallions to sire more than one stakes-winner at the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

HinchinbrookAustralia's Champion first- and second-crop sire, courtesy of Group I winner-now-stallion Press Statement and Group III SA Sires' Produce winner Flying Jess respectively, brought 2017 in with a bang when the latter followed up with her win in the $2m Magic Millions 3YO Guineas at the Gold Coast in January defeating previously unbeaten colt Winning Rupert and dual Group I winning filly Global Glamour.

Hinchinbrook's current season stakes-winners are headed by top-class juvenile Diamond Tathagata from his third crop who emulated his sire when winning the Group II ATC Skyline Stakes.

Joining him are Group III winner Spright and Listed winners Flippant and Derryn, who became his sire's ninth stakes-winner last weekend.

Hinchinbrook's fee has been set at $44,000 (Inc. GST).

"I Am Invincible sired his second Group I winner in the spring, he is the sire of 19 stakes-winners now and he consistently churns out the winners," said Arthur Mitchell.

"His current rate is 56% which is leaps and bounds ahead of any other stallion in the country and it is resonating with buyers in the sale ring.

"Hinchinbrook has only had three relatively small crops to race and is producing real quality. Both stallions have done what they have off low fees and they are upgrading their mares which is a real and rare attribute in stallions. We're lucky to have them and appreciate the continued support of our clients."
