I Australian Cup winner Humidor is one of three Group winners in eight days for
his sire Teofilo (IRE).
Multiple Group I winner Palentino capped off a remarkable eight days for his
sire, Teofilo, with victory in the Group II Blamey Stakes (1600m) at Flemington
on Saturday.
It was the four-year-old's third feature win over the Flemington mile following
his victories in the G1 Australian Guineas and Group I Makybe Diva Stakes and,
in winning, Palentino became the third Group winner in just eight days for his
sire.
At the same track a week earlier, Humidor became the twelfth career Group I
winner for Teofilo when he stormed home to claim the Group I Australian Cup
(2000m).
A runner-up at Group level at his previous two starts, Humidor was a Group III
winner in New Zealand before joining the Darren Weir stable this preparation.
The trio of Group winners for Teofilo also included Happy Clapper, who claimed
the Group III Newmarket Handicap over 1400m at Newcastle last Friday.
Already a Group II winner and placed at Group I level on multiple occasions,
Happy Clapper's career earnings have now soared past $1.5 milllion.
Teofilo will return to Kelvinside for the 2017 breeding season where he will
once again stand alongside his multiple Group Iwinning son Kermadec.
