Ridden brilliantly by Ben Melham, She Will Reign surged through heavy (10) conditions to win the world's richest juvenile race at Rosehill last Saturday.

Trainer Gary Portelli said on Monday that while the filly had pulled up well from the testing run, she will go out for a spell with a view to returning for a potential tilt at the inaugural $10 million Everest (1200m) at Randwick in October.

"There were never any visions of going any further than the Slipper," Portelli said.

"Slippers don't come around very often at Warwick Farm, not since Clarry (Conners) used to win them.

"She seems fine now – honestly if I wanted to run her again I could but I wouldn't step her up to 1400 (metres).

"She'll go straight to the paddock now and hopefully in the meantime we can organise for her to run in the Everest."
