Per Incanto Sparkles on the Champagne Turf

Media Release - Monday March 20

The country's leading 3YO sprinter delivered Little Avondale's Per Incanto (USA) a winning double on a Premier Day's racing at Trentham on Saturday.

Saracino - RAce ImagesDisplaying the speed, class and courage that has brought him a total of three G2 wins this season, Saracino (Per Incanto-Bella Daniela by O'Reilly) was too good for his fellow 3YO's in the 1400m G2 Grant Plumbing Wellington Guineas.

The Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman trained and Lib Petagna owned and bred colt is now expected to head back to Australia, where he claimed the 1200m G2 Danehill Stakes in the spring.

Blinkers certainly look to have worked the oracle for Ron Cunningham's 4YO Shadow's Cast (Per Incanto-Ages Past by Slavic), who defeated the highly rated pair of Beefeater and Royal Success over 1400m earlier on the Trentham card. Since the addition of the head-gear three starts ago, the Mark Oulaghan trained gelding has won twice and placed third in the Douro Cup.
