Karrakatta Plate Next for So Secret's Wacked Out

Mark Smith - Sunday March 19

Outsider of the field Wacked Out scored a $31 upset in Saturday's The Perth Stakes (1100m) at Ascot.

The 2yo son of So Secret was well supported to win the Supremacy Stakes (1000m) at his career debut off the back of some sparkling trial form but he disappointed finishing ran last of nine.

The Neville Parnham-trained colt was sent to the front by Parnham's son Brad and was untroubled to defeat Riasc ( Rogano) by three-quarters of a length with Reykjavik (Artie Schiller) back in third.

"His trial form was excellent and his work had been excellent leading into the race," Neville Parnham told The West Australian.

"But his first-up run, unfortunately he stumbled badly out of the gates and Brad was pretty lucky to stay in the saddle.

"Today he bounced the gates really well. He showed his acceleration and turn of foot that he's got and let down really well.

"Whether or not he can do that in the Karrakatta Plate's another question, but that will be his next stop."

Purchased by his trainer for $42,500 from the Rangeview Stud draft at the 2016 Magic Millions Yearling sale, Wacked Out (pictured as a yearling) is the third foal and second winner out of the unraced Real Jester mare Real Hi a half-sister to Group I Winterbottom Stakes winner Barakey, Group III WATC Champion Fillies winner Hi On Love and the Listed Belmont Oaks winner Ifestio the dam of Group I WEinterbottom Stakes winner Magnifisio.

Wacked Out becomes the second stakes winner for Rangeview Stud's Danetime stallion So Secret.
