Carrying
the familiar blue and pink colours of well-known owner breeder Keith Biggs to victory
at Sandown on Wednesday was the daughter of his Group I AJC Australian Oaks
winner Dizelle.
Three year-old Fastnet Rock filly Rock Giselle was cherry ripe at her third run
back from a spell when stepped up to 1500 metres.
The Lee and Anthony Freedman trained filly surged late to win by three-quarters
of a length franking the form of Monday's impressive Moonee Valley winner
Montoya's Secret, who thrashed Rock Giselle at her previous start.
Both Rock Giselle and Montoya's Secret are entered for the Group I ATC
Australian Oaks on April 8.
A half-sister to stakes-winner Dizlago and Group II placed Lucky Lago, Rock
Giselle was retained to race and is the fifth winner from Dizelle, a sister to
Hong Kong Horse of the Year Vengeance of Rain and daughter of Group I VATC Blue
Diamond Stakes winner Danelagh.
Dizelle produced a full sister to Rock Giselle last spring and was subsequently
covered by Written Tycoon.
