It was Chauffeur's $31 stablemate Trapeze Artist who was in a race of his own in the closing stages to win by three lengths over Trekking (Street Cry) with Muraaqeb (Snitzel) a half-length back in third.
"He's always had the talent. I put blinkers on him between his two trials and it improved him out of sight," winning trainer Gerald Ryan said.
"I didn't want to put blinkers on him first up over 1250 (metres).

Viera had purchased the colt's dam Treppes (Domesday) for $190,000 out of the Edinburgh Park draft at the 2014 Magic Millions National Broodmare sale.
She was carrying the Black Opal Stakes winner at the time of her sale.
