Entered
for the newly created Inglis Chairman's Sale Session II for Elite Breeding
Prospects next month at Newmarket, Lonhro mare Heatherly added another win to
her resume when taking out the Listed VRC ATA Bob Hoysted Handicap at
Flemington on Saturday.
Beaten just two lengths by Terravista in the Group I VRC Lightning Stakes at
her first run back from a spell, the Matt Ellerton and Simon Zahra trained mare
hit top form to win the 1000 metre dash by a length and three-quarters.
A $90,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Broadwater Farm draft for Inglis as
agent, Heatherly runs for Barry and Midge Griffiths and has won six of 14
starts earning just shy of $600,000 in prizemoney.
Already a Group II winner and Group I placed, Heatherly heads to Sydney not
just for the Chairman's Sale, but also for the Group I ATC The Galaxy (1100m).
She is one of 66 stakes-winners for Darley's champion sire Lonhro, who was the leading
sire at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale by average.
Heatherly is the lone winner from unraced Dancing Heather, a Danzero half-sister
to Group I winner Linton.
Dancing Heather produced a colt foal by Written Tycoon last year and was then
covered again by Lonhro.
