A
trip to the US last year by leading Sydney trainer Gerald Ryan and Australian
bloodstock identities Damion Flower and Craig Anderson paid handsome dividends
at the 2017 Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale for two year-olds in Florida earlier
today.
When visiting the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale last year the trio set
out to buy a colt and a filly with the view to racing them in the US, but ended
up only coming away with a filly after spending all of their budget on her.
Jadeskye Racing paid $285,000 for the Scat Daddy filly from Me and Miss Jones
and that filly created a considerable windfall for her owners when fetching
$800,000 at the sale today.
Consigned for sale by Niall Brennan Stables, the filly galloped a furlong in
10.2 seconds and was expected to make somewhere in the region of $400,000, so
her final price has exceeded all expectation.
From the second last crop of foals by ill-fated Scat Daddy, the filly was bought by
Kerri Radcliffe and is from an unraced daughter of Group III winner Forest
Heiress.
