Hong Kong-based star Joao Moreira has confirmed a ride in Saturday week's Group I Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington.
Moreira won last Saturday's Group I Oakleigh Plate aboard Sheidel but he has ended his partnership with the mare to accept an offer to ride the Mick Price-trained Flying Artie in the rich sprint.
Flying Artie's connections decided to book Moreira when it became clear regular rider Damien Oliver, who was aboard the colt in the Lightning Stakes, would struggle to make the weight to ride the three-year-old in the Newmarket Handicap.
Flying Artie received 52.5kg when Newmarket Handicap weights were released on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Craig Williams has announced he will rekindle his association with exciting colt Star Turn in the Newmarket Handicap.
Williams, who won last Saturday's Blue Diamond Stakes aboard Catchy, piloted Star Turn to an impressive win over Malaguerra in the Group II Schillaci Stakes (1000m) in the spring.
Williams will ride Star Turn, the third placegetter in the Lightning Stakes, at 52kg in the Newmarket Handicap.
