Taking
another step towards the better autumn races at Moonee Valley on Friday night
was the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Snitzel three year-old Farson, a
$180,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Turangga Farm.
Farson broke his maiden at Kilmore on January 7 with an authoritative win and
upped the ante when winning a Benchmark 70 event at Caulfield on Australia Day.
Ridden forward again by Steve Baster to sit in second place, he was tenacious
to the line in winning this 1600 metre Benchmark 70 event by a neck as
favourite..
Now a winner of three of his eight starts with prizemoney topping $80,000, Farson
olds an entry for the Group I VRC Australian Guineas on March 4, a race
Waterhouse has won previously with a son of Snitzel in Wandjina.
Farson was bred and sold by Turangga Farm and is the third winner from
stakes-winner Clear View.
Turangga Farm have the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale this weekend next on the
