Winning Debut for Inglis Premier Sale-Topper

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 31
Fetching $700,000 to top the 2016 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale was Snitzel colt Ducimus, who made a winning debut at Ballarat on Tuesday for Team Hawkes.

Ducimus as a yearlingIn a hot little maiden over 1100 metres, Ducimus went forward to lead for Noel Callow and kicked away in the straight before holding off a late challenge from Undoubtable Miss to win by a long neck.

It was a pleasing debut that will have connections eyeing off better races for the expensive son of Snitzel.

Ducimus was bred by WA based Oakland Park Stud and offered for sale by Blue Gum Farm as agent.

Bought by L Hung/ Bahen Bloodstock, Ducimus is the eighth winner from eight to race from terrific producing Danehill Dancer (IRE) mare Beauty World.

Among her eight winners are Group III winners Lite'n in My Veins, Hi World, stakes-winner Loveyamadly, Group I placed American Crew and stakes-placed Where's Wally, so it will be nos surprise to see Ducimus progress to Black type races too.

Beauty World had a Sepoy filly last spring and is now in foal to Written Tycoon.

Ducimus is the 17th two year-old winner this season for Snitzel, who leads the two year-old sires division by winners and earnings.
