Featured in a recent Breednet 'Juvenile Trial Watch' story, Pariah was well tuned for his debut with two recent trials and ran right up to what he had shown us on those occasions.
The Peter and Paul Snowden trained colt was eased back at the start by Kerrin McEvoy before surging into contention out wide o the turn.
With the favourite Menari held up in a pocket on the fence, Pariah(images Steve Hart) powered to the line down the outside to win by a length with Menari closing late for second when clear.
"He's a really nice horse with good ability," said Peter Snowden.
"He has so much upside coming out of this given it's his first start."
The Snowden's also have the James Harron Bloodstock owned Breeders Plate winner Khan in the stable and he trialled impressively at Randwick on Friday.
"Khan trialled well, so we're lucky to have two nice colts in the stable," said Snowden, who indicated Pariah may now go to Melbourne to target the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes next month.
Pariah was a $700,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Arrowfield draft for James Harron Bloodstock and runs for a syndicate of JHB clients.
Bred by Arrowfield and partners, he is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to dual Group I winner and $1.9 million earner Melito being the first foal of metro winning Hussonet (USA) mare Secluded.
The second foal of Secluded is another Redoute's Choice colt that will be offered by Arrowfield at Inglis Easter as Lot 333.
Pariah is the fifth stakes-winner sired by Redoute's Choice from a daughter of Hussonet (USA), who also stood at Arrowfield for many years after his switch from Chile earlier in his career.
There have been seven winners from 10 runners bred this way and the five stakes-winners are all Group winners – Majmu (dual Group I), Kebede, Honesty Prevails, Panzer Division and now Pariah – so it's a powerful nick!
