Scoring
a blazing front running win at Moonee Valley on Friday night was promising two
year-old Reward for Effort filly Blondie.
Trained by Brendan McCarthy, Blondie was fast from the gates and did best in
the early speed battle to eventually take the lead.
She found another gear turning for home with Damien Oliver steering the filly
to a dominant length and three-quarter win in the 1000 metre scamper.
Retained to race by her breeders Innisfree Thoroughbreds, Blondie is the fourth
winner from four to race from former speedy General Nediym mare Divine
Princess, a half-sister to Group III winner Commanding Hope.
Blondie is a bright prospect for Chatswood Stud's Reward for Effort, who won
the 2009 MRC Diamond Stakes.
