Juvenile Redoute’s Choice winner South Africa

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 25
Breaking his maiden with a dominant victory at Turffontein in South Africa on Tuesday was Redoute's Choice colt Mujallad, another successful Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell.

Mujallad as a yearlingPrepared by Mike de Kock, Mujallad improved on his debut second at the start of the month to dash away and win the 1000 metre juvenile plate by three and a half lengths as favourite.

A $370,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Bell View Park draft for Shadwell, Mujallad is a half-brother to stakes-placed Tarismo and is the second winner from stakes-winning Pins mare Raid.

Raid is a full sister to the dam of dual Group I winner Stratum Star and descends from champion mare Emancipation.

She was sold in the Bell View Park Dispersal last year fetching $380,000 when secured by Paul Willetts for Three Bridges Thoroughbreds and was covered last spring by Vancouver.

Shadwell and Mike de Kock made it a winning double of Aussie breds when three year-old Snitzel colt Raasmaal scored his second win from four starts when saluting over 1000 metres.

He was a $240,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Bylong Park Thoroughbreds draft and is one of three winners from stakes-placed Coast to the Post.
