High
Chaparral (IRE) over a Zabeel mare gave us an outstanding Champion 3YO in
Dundeel and Bjorn Baker, whose father Mark trained Dundeel, will be hoping this
debut winner bred the same way can also make his mark this autumn.
You
need to see this win, wow look at him go!
With two moderate trials under his belt, three year-old gelding Impavido was
easy in the market, but belied the lack of interest from punters when charging
home from last to win the 1400 metre maiden running away by more than three
lengths.
It was an impressive win that will have anyone at Kembla on Tuesday writing his
name down as a horse to follow.
Impavido was a $120,000 Magic Millions purchase for Bjorn Baker Racing/
Blandford Bloodstock from the Baramul Stud draft and is the first foal of handy
winning Zabeel mare Assertion, from the family of Group I winners Atomic Force
and Encounter.
Baramul Stud sent Assertion to New Zealand I 2015 and sold the current yearling,
a colt by More Than Ready (USA), for $130,000 to Kendrick Racing at Magic
Millions this year in the Westbury Farm draft.
High Chaparral is a sire that can get an out and out champion and his last crop of Australian yearlings are being sold this year.
