Flemington jumpouts January 20 - Juveniles to note

Several juveniles showed promise in jumpouts at a wet and blustery Flemington on Friday.

The Lindsay Park Racing-trained Debutants Stakes winner Wait For No One led most of the way to win the fastest heat of the morning with the Maribyrnong Plate winner Aspect trialling strongly behind.

The first heat of the morning was won by proven sprinter Faatinah, which led all the way to defeat Group II winner Miss Rose De Lago.

Friday's heats were on the outside of the course proper, starting from the 2000m and the ground riding in the soft(5) range after 11 mm of rain overnight and showers throughout the morning.

Heat 1 - 800m 49.80 seconds

1st FAATINAH (Lindsay Park Racing)

2nd MISS ROSE DE LAGO (D O'Brien)

3rd BIG MEMORY (T McEvoy)

Analysis: Faatinah broke sharply and led towards the outside, one length in front of Miss Rose De Lago after 100m. Faatinah travelled strongly all the way and had a neck to spare at the finish, both still on the bridle. Big Memory was fourth at halfway without any pressure and stayed on well through the line to be close up third in a group that included Shadow Fighter and Comadi .


Heat 12, 2yos - 800m 48.98 seconds

1st WAIT FOR NO ONE (Lindsay Park Racing)

2nd DOUBLE JEOPARDY (M Ellerton & S Zahra)

3rd SUNQUEST (S Richards)

Analysis: This the fastest heat of the morning and a bunched finish. Wait For No One (c Lonhro - Divine Choice) broke sharply and led narrowly towards the outside after 100m, clear at halfway and staying on under a hand ride to score by a neck. Double Jeopardy (c Exceed And Excel - Nediym's Glow) was towards the outside, second at halfway and then ridden along over the final 100m. Sunquest (c Helmet - Seeking Sunshine) was niggled along to be third at halfway and getting a reminder 100m out, chased along through the line to be beaten a neck. Karmonaaron (g Dane Shadow - Back Where We Belong) settled fourth and ridden passing halfway, getting two smacks inside the finals stages and beaten half a length. Aspect (c Pluck - Innishberg) settled second last and always on the bridle, coming through smoothly over the final 200m to be beaten under one length.

Heat 13, 2yos - 800m 50.04 seconds

1st ROYAL PHOENIX (Hawkes Racing)

2nd OVERSHARE (Hawkes Racing)

3rd STARLIKE (M Ellerton & S Zahra)

Analysis: Royal Phoenix (c Animal Kingdom - Helena Girl) and Overshare (c I Am Invincible - Savannah's Choice) shared the lead after 100m and stayed there, Overshare on the outside. Starlike (f Exceed And Excel - Star Of Giselle) was towards the rear early but built momentum to come through towards the inside under hands and heels, beaten two lengths but winding up nicely at the finish.


Heat 14, 2yos - 800m 49.66 seconds

1st LAST LIGHT (M Ellerton & S Zahra)

2nd COROGLEN (Hawkes Racing)

3rd DUCIMUS (Hawkes Racing)

Analysis: Last Light (f Casino Prince - Menangle) was a little slow into stride and some four lengths off the lead at halfway. Ridden along, she came through to join Coroglen at the finish. Coroglen (g Magnus - Prospect Street) broke smartly and shared the lead, always on the bridle under Michael Walker and held together through the line. Ducimus (c Snitzel - Beauty World) raced alongside Coroglen to halfway with Tatamadiva on his outside, not asked to do anything more and beaten three-quarters of a length at the finish.


Heat 15, 2yos - 800m 50.03 seconds

1st BOORADLEY (Lindsay Park Racing)

2nd ALICE ISLAND (Lindsay Park Racing)

3rd LOVEWITHOUTTRAGEDY (Lindsay Park Racing)

Analysis: Booradley (3 g Nicconi - Wickham) broke on terms before being allowed to balance up, coming through smoothly on the bridle along the inside to score by a half head and with more to give. Alice Island (f Statue Of Liberty - Shu Shu Lara) was second early and travelled smoothly all the way, on the bridle at the line. Lovewithouttragedy (f Bel Esprit - Miss Power Bird) raced widest of all, leading at halfway and not allowed off the bridle, beaten half a length.


Heat 16, 2yos - 800m 49.87 seconds

1st LA CHICA ROSA (C Waller)

2nd SEAWAY (C Waller)

3rd FENG CHU (Lindsay Park Racing)

Analysis: A second jumpout for La Chica Rosa (f Denman - La Mamma Rosa), which broke sharply and shared the lead with Seaway (c Ocean Park - Miss Purrfection) on her outside, both travelling strongly. La Chica Rosa scoring by three-quarters of a length over Seaway. Feng Chu (c Moshe - Divine Lady) settled third by halfway and stayed there without any pressure to be beaten two lengths.
