One to Watch – Pakenham

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 19
This blue-blooded daughter of champion racehorse So You Think was a moral to be our 'One to Watch' on Thursday following a stylish debut victory at Pakenham.

So You ThinkTrained by the Hayes/ Dabernig partnership, three year-old filly Seracena was allowed to settled in fourth place after jumping smartly and found the line strongly when angled into the clear.

She lengthened stride for Damian Lane and powered to the line to win the 1200 metre maiden by a length.

Retained to race by Contract Racing and partners, Seracena is a half-sister to dual Group I Derby hero Rebel Raider, Group III winner Shamoline Warrior and stakes-winner Cadillac Mountain being the sixth winner from six to race from Group I placed Dehere (USA) mare Picholine.

Seracena is sadly the last foal of Picholine, who died in 2015.

Coolmore based So You Think is building an impressive list of promising winners as we head towards the major Autumn Carnivals.
