MM Buyers – Day Two

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 12
After two sessions at Magic Millions, James Harron Bloodstock is officially the leading buyer with seven purchases totalling $2,615,000, but given the proliferation of various buying partnerships the leading buyers list is not as straight forward as it once was.

Adrian Bott and Gai WaterhouseSecond on the list is Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott Racing with 14 purchases tallying$2,530,000, but they also signed for the top lot of the day, a More Than Ready (USA) colt from Purespeed for $1.3 million, however he was bought in partnership with other investors so does not appear in their main list of acquisitions.

The only way to unravel the mystery of who bought what is to go through the buyers list carefully on our click through here - Click here for all the buyer information.

It must be somewhat frustrating for vendors to see so much collaboration between the buyers on so many of the so called 'big horses'.

Where once upon a time various buyers would compete to purchase a horse outright, there is now a growing trend to partner on horses amongst many of the influential players, thereby lessening the risk and the purchase price- competition is what drives up prices at auction.
