Newgate
Farm's Foxwedge featured at Canterbury on Friday night when progressive filly Foxy
Housewife scored a tenacious win to become his eighth Australian metropolitan winner
since the start of December.
The Gerald Ryan trained three year-old was a winner at Kembla back in June and
was having her third run back from a spell in the Benchmark 66 event for three
year-old fillies over 1250 metres.
Race fitness came into play when she ended up three wide for Josh Parr, but she
found the line strongly to win by a long head and has now banked over $63,000
in prizemoney.
Raced by BK Racing and Breeding, Foxy Housewife is the fourth winner from four
foals to race from Household (USA), an unraced half-sister to stakes-winner
Danzari from the family of Group I winners Zafonic, Announce and Prohibit.
She is the 22nd winner this season in Australia for Foxwedge, who
has had a great run since the start of December reeling off eight metropolitan
winners – Eastern Paradise, Colosimo, Honour 'n Strength, Arizona Wildcat,
Aghna, Barjeel, Volpino and now Foxy Housewife.
That's not to mention his unbeaten Kiwi based filly Volpe Veloce, whose six
wins include a Group II, Group III and a Listed win.
Foxwedge has an impressive draft of 27 for Magic Millions, click
