One to Watch – Werribee

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 5
The Hayes / Dabernig training partnership is wheeling out the two year-old winners at present with this talented daughter of Fastnet Rock bolting clear to win as she pleased in the Coolmore navy blue.

Formality was a short priced favourite and never gave punters a moment for concern as she jumped fast and crossed to find the fence before settling sweetly for Mark Zahra.

Formality as a yearlingAsked to go quicker up the straight, she quickly responded to dash away and win the 1100 metre maiden by more than four lengths eased down.

Formality is now likely to progress towards Black Type races with the Blue Diamond lead up races and possibly the MRC Chairmans Stakes on February 4 named as likely targets.

Formality was listed as a $120,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Coolmore draft by Inglis as agent and runs for Coolmore and partners.

She is the fourth winner from four foals to race from 2009 Singapore Horse of the Year, Jolie’s Shinju (Jpn), whose current yearling, a colt by Fastnet Rock, has been entered for the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling sale by Coolmore.

Formality is the third juvenile debut winner by Fastnet Rock to come out of the Lindsay Park training centre in recent weeks joining Catchy and Will’s Bid.
