A
big scopey daughter of Medaglia D'Oro (USA), this short priced winner at Wyong on
Wednesday will have her champion trainer pondering future long term goals.
The Chris Waller trained filly Kirini was a hot favourite for the 1600 metre
maiden and showed plenty of heart to overcome a wide run in transit to score a determined
half length win at her third start.
Kirini was a $520,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Guy Mulcaster Bloodstock from
the Yarraman Park draft and runs in the colours of Waller's former stable star
Kermadec with his owner Neville Morgan a co-owner of this filly.
She is the second winner from Group II winning Street Cry (IRE) mare Admiring,
a half-sister to stakes-winner Empire Dancer from stakes-winner Ballet Girl.
The current yearling from Admiring is a colt by Zoustar that Yarraman Park have
entered for the 2017 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale as Lot
337.
