Impressive winner for MM winner Mimi Lebrock

Breednet - Wednesday January 4
On the eve of the Magic Millions, former popular winner Mimi Lebrock produced a brilliant winner by Fastnet Rock in California Fortune at Wyong on Wednesday.

California Fortune as a yearlingHaving debuted at Warwick Farm in December with a third placing, the Snowden stable fitted California Fortune with blinkers for the second outing and he was clearly several grades above the opposition when going straight to the front and winning by just short of four lengths.

His dam Mimi Lebrock won the 2007 Magic Millions 2YO Classic at just her third start and subsequently went on to win the Sheraco Stakes (LR) as a three year-old and the Let's Elope Stakes (Gr3) and Tristarc Stakes (Gr2) as a four year-old mare.

He was a $450,000 purchase for Asian Bloodstock Services at last year's Inglis Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Segenhoe Stud and becomes the third winner from three to race for his charismatic dam.

Mimi Lebrock's fourth foal, by Snitzel is entered in next week's Magic Millions Sale as Lot 225 in the draft of Gerry Harvey's Baramul Stud.

Harvey purchased the mare for $1.025,000 at the Australian Easter Broodmare Sale, with the foal she was then carrying, by Exceed And Excel, making $625,000 at Easter which makes her a handy little investment thus far.

She foaled a filly by Snitzel in November and was sent to I Am Invincible.
