Bjorn Baker Loves a Newhaven Park Purchase

Bjorn Baker is no stranger to success with a Newhaven Park bred horse having won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic with Unencumbered and was back in the winner's circle with another Newhaven bred Magic Millions purchase on Friday night in Goodfella.

Goodfella as a yearlingWith race fitness and experience on his side, Goodfella was well equipped to handle the heavy nine conditions and surged clear to win the 1200 metre maiden by a length and a half at his fourth start.

With $56,200 in prizemoney, Goodfella has moved into contention for a start in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic next month.

A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newhaven Park draft for Bjorn Baker/ Blandford Bloodstock, Goodfella is the first winner for stakes-placed Red Ransom (USA) mare Movie, a daughter of stakes-winner Strawberry Storm.

Goodfella is the ninth two year-old winner this season for Snitzel, who is an easy leader of the two year-old sires division by winners and earnings.
