Snitzel
newcomer Debonairly threw her hat into the Magic Millions ring with a brilliant
debut victory at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
Trained by the Waterhouse/Bott team, the filly had been quite impressive in her
only trial and gave nothing else a chance at her first race start, winning by
over four lengths from Te Amo (Not A Single Doubt x Je T'Aime) and Membership
(Alll American x Lodore Falls).
Debonairly was offered at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale in the draft of
Milburn Creek, being knocked down to Gai Waterhouse and Marette Farrell on
behalf of the Us based Speedway Stables.
Prior to the race she had been a $26 chance in the early Magic Millions markets
but following the win was firmed into the third line of betting at $11.
She is by Snitzel from Singspiel mare Crystal Choir, a half-sister to German
champion Catella, who has now left four winners from six to race including the
Merson Cooper Stakes (LR) winner Corsaire (by Anabaa).
Crystal Choir has a yearling colt by Zoustar set to be offered by Milburn Creek
as Lot 745 at the Magic Millions in January.
