US
bloodstock investor Jon Kelly has bought a number of yearlings through Magic
Millions in recent years and this one made a winning debut at Bendigo on
Thursday for the Lee and Anthony Freedman stable.
Sent out favourite for the 1400 metre maiden despite drawing wide, Dancing Hare
surged home from back in the field to win by half a length.
A $400,000 Magic Millions purchase for Freedman and Jon Kelly from the Element Hill
draft, Dancing Hare was bred by Hutchins Thoroughbreds and is the first foal of
Global Dance (IRE), an unraced half-sister by Sadler's Wells to Group I winners
Cerulean Sky and Moonstone.
Element Hill sold a colt by Dalakhani (IRE) from Global Dance for $620,000 at
the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale this year and the mare has a Fastnet
Rock yearling filly to follow.
