Smart
Missile has had a flow of winners since the start of spring and this one caught
our eye as a horse to follow from Sale on Tuesday.
Prepared by David Brideoake for Peter Moody’s wife Sarah and partners, three
year-old colt Inwood did plenty wrong at his first two starts including a
second at Mornington last month.
He put it altogether third time lucky, when leading throughout to win over 1740
metres by a length and a half as favourite.
A $100,000 Inglis Easter Session II purchase for Moody Racing from the
Torryburn Stud draft, Inwood is the third winner from three foals to race from
Zabeel mare Pixels, a daughter of stakes-winner Snapshots from the family of
triple Group I winner Sea Siren.
Torryburn Stud will offer the current yearling from Pixels, a filly by Snitzel
as Lot
319 at the 2017 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
Inwood is the 21st Australian winner this season for Arrowfield Stud’s
Smart Missile, who is the leading Australian Second Season Sire by winners and
earnings.
The Champion First Season Sire of 2015/2016, Smart Missile stands at a fee of
$22,000.
