Karaka Million Contenders at Ready to Run

Next week's NZB Ready to Run Sale  is packed with Karaka Million eligible horses. 70 lots are in contention for New Zealand Bloodstock's lucrative Karaka Million Race Series, significantly boosting their appeal.

These two-year-olds belong to the first wave of Karaka graduates that are competing for the enhanced Karaka Million Series featuring two $1 million races. They are eligible to enter for the $1 million Karaka Million in 2017, the $1 million Karaka Million 3YO Classic in 2018, plus the $100,000 Karaka Stayers Cup from 2019 and each year thereafter.

Each of the Karaka Million Series races features on the six-race card at the Karaka Million Twilight Meeting, held at Auckland Racing Club's Ellerslie Racecourse on the eve of NZB's National Yearling Sales Series. The recent, enormous prizemoney boost to the Series has cemented this event as the richest race day in New Zealand and one of the most iconic race meetings on the calendar.

The 70 eligible lots are identified by the Karaka Million logo printed at the bottom of their pedigree page.

There are also 24 fillies catalogued that are nominated for the NZB Insurance Pearl Series 2016.The Series comprises over $5 million in prizemoney and bonuses across 200 fillies races around the country. The Pearl Series logo identifies eligible fillies at the bottom of the pedigree page.

The 2016 NZB Ready to Run Sale catalogue has attracted a total of 552 two-year-olds. The Sale will be held on 16 & 17 November 2016 at Karaka with selling starting at 10am each day.

The Breeze Ups were held at Te Rapa Racecourse on 17 & 18 October with the youngsters filmed and timed galloping over 200m - Breeze Up clips are now available toview online.

With the Sale just around the corner, buyers are encouraged to complete a Buyer Registration form online to ensure their buyer registration sticker is ready and waiting for them when they arrive. Or, if they wish to appoint an agent to purchase on their behalf at the Sale, they can now complete the necessary Appointment of Agent form online. International customers can use CollinsonCo for forex payments. Chinese-based customers can make payments using the Chinese payment platform MyRapidPay.
