Newgate Active at Fasig-Tipton November Sale

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday November 8
With four outstanding new stallions set to join the Newgate Farm roster next year in Flying Artie, Capitalist, Extreme Choice and Russian Revolution, Newgate were active in Kentucky on Monday securing four lovely race mares from the 2016 Fasig-Tipton November Sale.

Al's Gal - TwitterSF Bloodstock and Newgate purchased the quartet for $1,585,000 and all will be sent to Australia to take up stud duties here in 2017.

"Newgate and partners bought some really talented racemares with lovely outcross blood," said Newgate principal Henry Field.

"Our objective is to support our young stallions with proper mares and craft their careers to give them every possible chance at stud.

"It's not just about selling nominations, it's about developing great stallions."

The most expensive Newgate purchase was Lot 103, Al's Gal for $800,000. A Group I winner this year of the EP Taylor Stakes at Woodbine, she is a sibling by English Channel to Group II winner May Be Now and stakes-winner Ann of the Dance.

The remaining purchases were Lot 99 West Coast Chick for $385,000, Lot 61 Ma Can Do It for $300,000 and Lot 153 Invading Humor for $100,000.
