Australian
bred four year-old New Predator scored his second Black Type success when
taking out the Group II Peermont Emperor's Palace Charity Mile at Turffontein
in South Africa on Saturday providing a great result for Three Bridges
Thoroughbreds, who now own his dam.
Trained by Johan Janse van Vuuren, the New Approach (IRE) entire was a Group II
winner last season at three and took this 1600 metre feature by half a length taking
his overall record to four wins from 13 starts.
He passed in at the 2013 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale and was sent to
South Africa later that year and is the first stakes-winner for Head Over
Heels, a half-sister by Fastnet Rock to stakes-winner Presently.
Head Over Heels was purchased at the 2015 Magic Millions National Broodmare
Sale by Paul Willetts Bloodstock on behalf of Three Bridges for $52,500.
She has since produced a filly by Fighting Sun that was sold by Three Bridges
as a weanling for $50,000 and has been sent to New Zealand and has foaled this
spring producing a colt by Unencumbered.
Also breaking his maiden at Kenilworth over 1200 metres for the Dennis Drier
stable was More Than Ready (USA) three year-old Lloyd's Legacy who scored by
four and a quarter lengths after finishing third on debut last month.
He was an $80,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Amarina Farm draft and is the
first winner from Irish Group III winner Oh Goodness Me (GB), a daughter of
champion sire Galileo.
