A
dual Group I winner of the Queensland Oaks and STC Storm Queen Stakes, former
star staying filly Purple produced her first winner for Darley at Kyneton on
Wednesday.
Prepared by John O'Shea, three year- old Street Cry (IRE) colt Wine was
favourite for the 1850 metre maiden and scored a tenacious short head win.
By Commands from the family of Group I stars Gurners Lane and Sovereign Red, Purple
has a two year-old Lonhro colt called Toga Picta and a yearling colt by
Bernardini (USA).
She had no foal this spring after slipping the year before, but has been
covered by Teofilo (IRE).
