The
Gai Waterhouse / Adrian Bott stable had three winners on Cup day at Flemington
including promising mare Sort After, a $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for Gai
Waterhouse/ James Harron Bloodstock from the draft of Newgate Farm.
The four year-old daughter of Wanted posted her fourth win from just 10 starts
when bolting away to win over 1700m by three lengths and has now won nearly $140,000
in prizemoney.
"We've got her nominated for Saturday's Matriarch Stakes - so you'll more
than likely see her back up there," said Bott on Tuesday.
Sort After (pictured Steve Hart) has obviously pleased connections overnight as she is an acceptor
for the Group II VRC Matriarch stakes over 2000 metres and will be ridden by
Stephen Baster.
Sort After was bred by Nick Vass, who remains in her ownership and is one of
two winners from Group III winning More Than Ready (USA) mare Patronym, who
delivered a lovely filly by exciting young Newgate Farm based sire Wandjina this
spring.
