Lightly
raced Testa Rossa three year-old filly Ellicazoom won the Listed WATC Burgess
Queen Stakes at Ascot on Cup Day to become the first stakes-winner for former
star WA mare Ellicorsam, who won the Group I SAJC Swettenham Stud Stakes.
Trained by Neville Parnham, Ellicazoom scored her second win from just four
starts when posting a length victory in the 1400 metre contest over last start
stakes-winner Caipirinha.
A $180,000 Magic Millions purchase for her trainer from the Attunga Stud draft,
Ellicazoom was bred by Michael Birchall and is a half-sister to stakes-placed
El Doute being the best of four winners from Ellicorsam.
Ellicorsam has changed hands a couple of times in the last few years, sold most
recently for $75,000 at this year's Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale to Belmont
Bloodstock.
Ellicazoom is the 59th stakes-winner for Vinery Stud's stalwart sire
Testa Rossa.
