Shuttling
to Aquis Farm this spring, Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) passed a milestone overnight
when siring his 60th stakes-winner with a win in the Listed Cooley
Fillies Stakes at Dundalk in Ireland for three year-old filly Kadra.
Prepared by Michael Halford, she powered clear from a big field to win the one
mile contest by a length, her fourth win from nine starts.
A homebred for the Aga Khan, Kadra is the first winner for unraced Dalakhani
mare Kadayna, a daughter of stakes-winner Kadaka from the family of Epsom Derby
winner Kahyasi.
Holy Roman Emperor has proved very popular at Aquis Farm this spring at a fee
of $9,900 and has a key runner today at Flemington with his brilliant daughter
Sheidel looking for further Black Type in the Group III VRC Sensis Stakes.
